If you already have that power, or the power is irrelevant to the game you are playing, roll again. If you roll a 6 when determining power level, each player may choose a number of powers with level values that total to 6 or less, such as 5+1, 3+1, 3+2+1, and so on. They then roll to choose their powers as described above. For example, someone who chose level values of 4 and 2 after rolling a 6 would roll to obtain a random power with Level 4 and a random power with Level 2.

Random Powers

Roll a six-sided die to determine a power level from 1 through 5. Each player then rolls the die again to select one of the six powers of that level to use in the game.

Repeat this procedure an agreed-upon number of times. For example, you might agree ahead of time that you would roll the die three times to determine power levels, which would usually mean that each player would obtain three random powers.
