# 8 Comments. # This is great news!

I was just thinking the other day that most of the piecepack euros I know of are in the style of older euros with heavier player interaction (using area control and bidding) as far as I know there is no worker placement game for the piecepack. Maybe it's time for that to change!

As I remember it, in past contests people just worked on their games and sent them in to the judge and then afterwards the games were released. I've been involved (as a playtester) in the 2017 and 2018 9 card nanogame contests here on BGG and there participants are encouraged to make their game publicly available for playtesting for some time before the contest deadline and to playtest each other's games and help each other with their designs. I find it incredible how people have been helping each other in this current contest.

What do you think about having a page on the wiki where designers could link to their games in progress so that the designers could playtest and comment on each other's games and the games could all get as good as they can be before the judging?

Jessica, I think a page like that is an awesome idea, as long as people who want to keep their ideas secret until the deadline are free to do so too. Do you want to administer this page?

-- RonHaleEvans 2018-02-12 06:06 UTC

Yes, people should have that choice.

I would be happy to administer the page.

Then in the spirit of Where No One Has Gamed Before, make it so! :)

From Facebook:

Tim Schutz: Hi everyone

First

I got to play three of the games from the piecepack game contest today and check out one of the entries in the expansions/accessories contest. I had lots of fun and enjoyed them all. Ron took scrupulous notes as we had some great converasions about the individual games as we played them. If the remaining games and expansions/accessories are just as good, I think the judges will have some tough choices to make. I look forward to more of the play-tests.

Second

I am donating 2 prizes to the winners of each contest, a paper dice tower and a set of piecepack pyramids. I decided to change that a little, instead everyone who entered into the contest gets a paper dice tower (if you want one) and the winners will each just get a handmade boxed-set of piecepack pyramids (since they will already have a dice tower). If you entered the contest and would like your Dice Tower send me an e-mail to tjgames.com@live.com with the name of the game or expansions/accessories and your mailing address.

RON would you please e-mail this out to all the contestants to make sure they all see this.

MartyHaleEvans: I was another playtester today, and I agree, this is a great field of entries so far. I've participated in several of the previous contests as either a member of the judge's playtest team or an entrant, and I can't remember a stronger group. The designers should be proud of their work, and the rest of y'all should go give them a spin! :)

RonHaleEvans: Look under your seats! Everybody gets a dice tower!

I've played four of the games now: three with this group and one with another. None disappointed, and some exceeded expectations. I'm looking forward to the others.

About the prizes: Tim's decision to give all entrants dice towers does not take any prizes away from the winners, including the piecepack pyramids, the Blue Panther piecepack, the Mystique Deck, or everlasting glory.

More later.
