Tarot is a game and a game system. There are many variants of both. This page explains how to map a French Tarot deck onto the Rainbow Deck.

Components

• 78 cards
  • Suits = diamonds, hearts, spades and clubs
    • From low to high in each suit: 1-10, Jack, Knight, Queen, King.
  • Fifth suit of 21 trumps, from 1 (low) to 21 (high).
  • One special card called the Excuse or Fool.

RainbowDeck card mapping

• For suits, use FiveCrowns mapping.
• 1-9, 0, J in dark/low suit, continued with J, Q, K in light/high suit (dark J=Jack, light J=Knight).
• Trumps = 1-9, 0 in black (=1-10), then 1-9, 0, and K in gray (=11-21).
• Excuse/Fool = Joker.
