Re: [piecepack] Transparent piecepack?

The Gloom cards do look nice. But wouldn't the opaque part of the front side be a little obtrusive when using the back of the tiles as a board? And vice-versa? Maybe it would be possible to make a design that would work (with smaller numbers)... Also maybe the small suit icon on the front of the tiles should be placed in all four corners so that you can't tell the orientation when the tile is face down...

For the coins, the suit already takes most of the space, so the transparent part would be really small... The effect on the tiles would be really cool though...

It's a nice idea :)

Only the informational part of the tile, coin, etc. (suit and value)
would be opaque; the rest of it would be transparent.

I first saw this transparent/opaque effect in the card game Gloom.
Very impressive (the effect, not the game).

I want someone to manufacture a piecepack like this, but thicker --
plexiglas? The thickness shouldn't affect the effect.

Would this sell to people who currently scorn the piecepack because it
looks rustic to them? A lucite coin for your thoughts...
