Lines of Action is an AbstractStrategyGame designed by Claude Soucie. It is played on an 8x8 board. The object of the game is to form a single connected group with your pieces. On your turn, you move one piece in a straight line exactly as many spaces as there are pieces (of both colours) along the line you intend to move your piece.

There are dozens of web sites devoted to this game, and computer programs to play it. There are even international Lines of Action Tournaments. A LoA? set can be improvised from a single Checkers set, and we intend to include the rules for LoA? in the book for GamesToTheRescue, the group's philanthropic work.
