You may know me from my articles on GameSystems in [WWW]The Games Journal.

Ludography

I initiated a family of games called called [GBGWiki]Kennexions based on Hermann Hesse's Nobel-Prize-winning science fiction novel [WWW]The Glass Bead Game. For an entry-level game from the Kennexions family, I suggest the [GBGWiki]KenningHaiku. There is a [GBGWiki]KenningHaikuCompetition running through 15 February 2005, with a minimum of $100 of prizes.

I wrote an article on an [WWW]"EconoSplurge" Chess Variant Construction Set for the [WWW]Chess Variant Pages in November 2002. I hope to write a sequel soon.

Here are some piecepack games I have authored or co-authored:

I have co-authored a game for the Alpha Playing Cards game system called ?AlphaGhost.

I wrote a Cosmic Encounter variant called CosmicPig, based on the game in the juvenile SF novel InterstellarPig by William Sleator.

I rewrote the rules for DominoRasanto, a game in the ?Das Spiel dice pyramid game system, and added a timing rule.

My first serious attempt at game design was a game for the Icehouse game system called ?IceGammon, about which the less said the better.

Miscellaneous

I am married to the wonderful Marty Hale-Evans, who is a better gamer than I am and who co-authored many of the games above.

In August 2004, I was a guest of honor at Dragonflight XXV. [WWW]You can read about it.

Here are my [WWW]memepool contributions (under the name "tinfoil"), many of which are game-related.

Here is my [WWW]BookCrossing bookshelf. I sometimes release game-related books.

Here are the [WWW]five games I would take to a desert island (back in April 2001, anyway). Check out what's in my EmergencyGameKit too.

Here is my [WWW]game collection on BoardgameGeek. If you click "Hide games not for trade", you can see a list of games I'm trading. (Weird interface, eh? Why not "Show games for trade"?)

I have a huge collection of [WWW]gaming bookmarks at Backflip.com. I also have some [WWW]game shopping bookmarks.

I'm currently working on a translation of Reiner Knizia's KartenSchach.
