Good Portsmanship entries

Let's have some applause for Meredith "The Eradicator" Hale, the
contest administrator. I've been running her raggedy. She's got
midterm projects due this week in grad school, and her household is
recovering from a flash flood, so kudos to her for processing the
contest entries.

To the best of my knowledge, we had 12 entries (10 competing and two
noncompeting). Apologies if I'm misstating something below and you
know better. Mention it to Mer at piecepack7@... and it will get
sorted out eventually.

Competing entries (alphabetical order):
----------------------------------------------------
The Colonists of Natick - based on The Settlers of Catan Card Game

Globular Cluster - based on Tikal
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/54>

Human Harvest - based on Atta Ants and Expansions
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/8128>

Piecepack Croquet - based on Croquet
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croquet>

Pub sCrawl - based on Senet
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2399>

Shopping Mall - based on MarraCash
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/16>

Sonic Bio-Mutants in Space! - based on Holiday
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/512>

Take Off, Eh! - based on El Grande
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/93>

Temple of Gold - based on Goldland
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3139>

The Wandering Merchant - based on Merchants of Venus
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/230>

Looks like a lot of people chose old-timey classics to port -- check
out how low some of the BoardGameGeek item numbers are above.

Noncompeting entries (alphabetical order):
----------------------------------------------------
Sheep, by Pete Jones - based on Glik
<http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/24230>
<http://www.ludism.org/ppwiki/Sheep>

Tile 13, by Ron Hale-Evans - based on the public piecepack game design
competitions
<http://www.ludism.org/ppwiki/Competitions>

Sheep was an entry in the Mesomorph Games contest, and since it was a
port of Glik, Pete Jones submitted it as a noncompeting entry in this
contest. The URL for his game is above. As for my game, Tile 13, I'll
have it ready as soon as I do some data entry from the last playtest;
could be as soon as tonight. (It's not a port of Tom Wham's File 13,
but since it's about game design, the title is an homage.)

Peace/pax be unto you all, and good luck!

Ron
