So how would this system represent 799 or 1879?  Unless I'm missing
something, you can represent the first digit by the placement of the die,
the last by the placement of the coin.  So, how could the middle digit be a
7, 8, 9, or 0? (If Null=6)

Regardless, this seems overly complex, and I think you have a few
alternatives.  The first, and most visual satisfying is to download the
money templates from the JCD piecepack.  (They're really well done)  The
second would be to use a pen a paper to keep track of everyone's money
total.  Aternately, use four pennies and a track with four columns with 0->9
on it to represent any number between 0 and 9999.
