Twilight Imperium

TI reminds me variously of Master of Orion, Civilization (which is what MOO rips off, anyway), Democrazy?, Star Control, and Settlers_of_Catan?, with some other games and references thrown in for good measure. With a full complement of 6 players, this game can take more than eight hours to play, even with computer-assisted bookkeeping, relegating it to the realm of the LongGameDay. Still, it's interesting and varied (due to the random allotment and placement of the map hexes) and has a lot of nifty plastic pieces.
